LOCATION.
The Institute is located in historic Valenciana, directly behind
the Valenciana Mine, and its classrooms and grounds afford spectacular
vistas of the city below. We also use some classrooms downtown for
special classes.
CLASSROOMS.
Our classrooms are spacious, light, and airy. All are comfortably
furnished, and most have balconies or adjacent terraces overlooking
the city.
OTHER
SERVICES. Our large office/library offers a growing
collection of Spanish and English language reading material.
THE
GREAT OUTDOORS. The school's grounds are an outdoor
maze of landscaped gardens with mature trees and flowering plants.
Potted plants, fountains, and conversation nooks dot the school's
outdoor terraces, which may be used for individual or group studyor
quiet conversation.
TRANSPORTATION.
We provide daily
transportation to and from the Institute for our students. The Institute's
free shuttle runs from the center of Guanajuato to Valenciana and
back at 8:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm. In addition, an inexpensive
local bus service is available (buses run every half-hour from 7
a.m. to 9 p.m.), and a taxi service is also available. If
you feel the need to exercise, there is a spectacular walking trail
that begins at the Institute and snakes its way down the adjacent
hillside, exiting onto a pavement near the Hotel Parador San
Javier. The walk down takes a leisurely 20 minutes; count on more time for
the walk up!
We offer an airport
pick-up and drop-off service as well. A one-way service from Bajio
airport to Guanajuato or vice-versa is US$37 (max. two people).
If three or more people require transport then the cost is US$20
per person one-way.
In
short, we want the time you spend at the Institute to be relaxing
and productive, and we believe we have built an unmatched facility
for our students, faculty, and staff.
